The Realm
Cities built for living in
Every city on CodexCraft is generated with the world: roads that follow the hills, houses for every trade, villagers at work, and walls where the capital needs them. Every one of them is a town you can join.
Codexia, the Capital
Every journey begins in Codexia, a great walled city around the world spawn. Gatehouses with portcullises guard its eight-sided wall. Inside stand a castle with a great hall and throne, and a market square with a fountain, stalls and traders. The Market Hall, Barracks, Guildhall and Cartographer House face the square.
Cities Across the Land
Further out, wild cities and old villages dot the countryside. They are built from dozens of medieval buildings: cottages and workshops, inns, chapels, granaries, manors and cathedrals. Their streets step with the land rather than flattening it.
A Home of Your Own
Every city and village is a town run by an NPC mayor, with lots for sale that follow the buildings on them. Join a town, buy a house or an open plot, and trust your friends to build on it. Lots near the square are shop lots, where you can open a shop.
Contracts & Officers
A notice board stands at every town spawn, with contracts to supply, craft, hunt, carry and explore. Hand them in to the town's officers: the Quartermaster, the Captain of the Guard, the Postmaster and the Cartographer. Good work earns standing, and standing earns rebates.
The Crown's Road
New arrivals are met by the Herald in the castle of Codexia. Their questline clears the roads, carries a letter across the realm, and sees you settled in a town. It pays enough along the way for your first village house.
Charters & Sieges
Own enough lots in a server-run city and you can buy its charter, replace the NPC mayor and rule it yourself. Server towns stay at peace. A chartered town leaves the peace, joins the politics of nations and can be besieged.
